The International Journal of Language & Linguistics is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ensuring that all published works are original and properly attributed. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper citation.
- Submitting a manuscript that has already been published elsewhere.
- Paraphrasing substantial parts of another's work without proper acknowledgement.
- Claiming credit for someone else’s research, results, or findings.
Plagiarism Detection
All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using advanced plagiarism detection software. Any manuscript with significant similarities to previously published works without proper citation will be rejected immediately.
Self-Plagiarism (Text Recycling)
Authors must ensure their new submission does not contain excessive similarities to their previously published works. If a manuscript includes content from the author’s prior publications, it must be appropriately cited, and the overlap should be minimal.
Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after publication), the following actions will be taken:
- Before Publication: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be prohibited from submitting it to the journal.
- After Publication: The published article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued. The author’s institution may be informed of the misconduct.
Preventing Plagiarism
To avoid plagiarism, authors should:
- Properly cite all sources, including their previous work.
- Use quotation marks for direct quotes and reference appropriately.
- Paraphrase correctly while maintaining the original meaning and providing credit to the source.
By submitting a manuscript to the International Journal of Language & Linguistics, authors confirm that their work is plagiarism-free and follows the journal’s ethical guidelines.
